The brakes on this stupid car are designed to wear out every 20,000 miles. And, this is the first vehicle in the history of the brake rotor in which the rotor is intentionally designed not to be turned. Every other car in the world has five or six brake jobs in it, because you simply turn the rotors on a lathe, making them smooth and flat again. Not this car. They designed it to have no extra metal on the rotors, so if they overheat or your pads get too low, you have to buy new rotors for $400. For me, it was sudden braking through high water on the road-- the heat, then sudden cold water caused them to warp. Because they can't be turned, I had to replace all of them. The service manager admitted the design choice, and his candid solution was to replace them every 19,000 miles, to avoid the possibility of getting into the rotors.
