Internal gears were worn to the point of failure, was unable to shift. I am very disappointed that VW was not willing to cover the cost or warranty the transmission simply because we were over the warranty miles but under the warranty years. Because the failure was due to wear the failure took place early in the cars life not when the catastrophic failure took place.
