VW tdi passat torque converter problems well documented on the internet, just google, "VW torque converter problems"....then never buy a VW car....their claim for "German Engineering" is a joke. they use the same torque converter for all engine sizes, the W-8 and tdi engines produce too much torque and destroy the torque converter...well engineered my ass.....stay away from VW passsats esp. the diesels
