Took car into kerney mesa vw for oil pressure light.Only owned car 2 days. Was told oil pump was fine probably a sensor. Brought it back to have it repaired.! Thirteen hundred dollars later I get in my car and drive 2 miles light comes back on but this time there is noise coming from the engine.I call the dealership they tow my car and now tell me i have to replace my engine! And they want me to pay!! They never checked my oil pressure even though that was my main complaint. I guess small claims court we go.

Passat 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 94,500 miles

Took the vehicle to Volkswagen of Ocala and was told that there was no way to determine if the bolt backing out is the reason for the warning light. The technician was unable to see the actual warning light and therefore they would have to do a series of troubleshooting techniques at which each procedure would cost me additional. The technician basically told me that he really didn't want to remove the transmission but to change the oil and top it off and then if we drive it and the warning light comes on again to stop driving the vehicle and bring it back in to remove the transmission and replace the oil pump bolt. Now it is possible that if the bolt is backing out and we are in the process of driving the vehicle there is a possibility that the engine could sustain fatal damages and need to be replaced. VW should foot the bill for this repair since it appears to be a common problem.
