This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Volkswagen dealer.
Considering how I just had the engine fixed and serviced about a year earlier due to fuel injector malfunctions, this incident really grinds my gears. I was driving on 476 North in the Philadelphia area, which is an extremely dangerous highway to be on the side of, and my check engine light came on/was flashing. My car immediately started shaking uncontrollably and I could not get enough acceleration out of the engine. It felt like the car was going to stall. Then my EPC light came on. I quickly drove to the shoulder and turned my car off.
I wait 3 hours for a tow to take my car to the dealer to have it fixed. I was without my car for 3 days. Ended up needing a new ignition coil, which I hear is a VERY common issue with the VW. This should be a recalled component of the VW considering my car only has 61,000 miles on it.

At 54,337 miles, vehicle lost power when I accelerated on the highway. I thought the transmission was going. I took my vehicle to the dealership and was told that the ignition coil for cylinder 1 was misfiring and had to be replaced along with the cooling fan which was also faulty. Neither was covered by the warranty!!!
This is the second Volkswagen I have purchased and I also think it's my last. Problems like this should not be happening. Pissed that it is not covered by the warranty! I also had the intake manifold and fuel induction replaced at 43,321 the manifold was covered by warranty but not the fuel induction. I'm thinking I purchased a manufacturer defect!!!!

Driving to the store to pick up a few things car was driving normal. All of a sudden I pull up to a light to make a left turn and the engine light comes on, the epc light comes on, and the battery light comes on. The engine turns off and will not start back up. Tried a few times to start it back up and then smoke started coming from under the hood. Still not sure what the problem is, but I will be updating as soon as I find out. This is ridiculous.I was stranded without warning, or any way to foresee this malfunction.
