The contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Passat tdi. The contact stated that while attempting to replenish the diesel exhaust fluid, the fluid overflowed and due to a design flaw it leaked into the rear passenger floor board. As a result of the failure, the contact experienced lung problems. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician cleaned the fluid but was unable to determine how to prevent the failure from happening again. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 9,000.
