The contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that the buttons on the steering wheel failed and the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the Volkswagen of van nuys dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering wheel clock spring failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.
