Takata recall - I bought this vehicle for safety and I'm very disappointed that there is no fix or eta on one at this time. This is a breach of contract and I don't feel safe driving this vehicle anymore. A loaner program, at the very least, should be in place. This is appalling that no mind is paid to the safety of owners and VW just expects us to just sit back and wait for "another letter" but drivers can die if the airbag deploys.

The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 16V078000 (air bags) was received in February of 2016. After contacting the dealer and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed to repair the vehicle were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be given. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I received a takata sii driver frontal airbag recall notice indicating the the driver airbag inflator could potentially rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash which may result in serious injury or death. Vwoa does not have a solution or a replacement part for affected cars. I contacted my local dealership (santa barbara VW) and spoke to the service manager, steve ross about providing a loaner vehicle free of charge until the recall was resolved. The service manager refused to provide me a loaner and told me to call VW customer service. I spoke to eugene (5/18/16) @ VW customer service requesting a complimentary loaner (Honda is providing complimentary loaners) and he was not able to assist me. When I asked to provide evidence to support that the recalled takata airbag in my 2014 VW Passat was safe eugene at customer care was not able to confirm (asked him repeatedly) that the recalled airbag in my vehicle was safe even after I recited line by line, that the recall letter indicates that the takata airbag represents a safety hazard. I respectfully request that my local dealer provide me with a suitable loaner until this issue is rectified as it represents a clear and present safety hazard.

Takata recall. I was notified of the recall a couple of weeks ago. I am not able to drive my vehicle because of safety issues. Luther westside Volkswagen in St. Louis park, Minnesota, where I purchased the vehicle, can't fix the safety defect 'due to no parts.' I asked the dealer for a loaner car and was advised it wasn't available and was advised to call Volkswagen of America. I also will call the dealer's manager on Monday. When I purchased the VW, I traded in a Toyota because it had takata recalls on it. I purchased the 2014 VW because VW is known for its safety. I advised the VW dealer that I had not driven my Toyota in over a year because of air bag recalls and needed to get a new car because of the safety recalls. 6 months later, VW issued a recall. VW should have known not to use takata air bags in a 2014 model, as it appears issues have been ongoing with takata air bags for a good 10 years. The dealer did not mention that the same defective air bags were in the 2014 VW Passat. I need a different car without takata air bags or a loaner until the parts are available to fix the safety problem. My car was also inspected in Florida and I understand from the Toyota recall that vehicles that have been in Florida may have priority and I would like to get priority repairs.

Takata inflators. I just received my recall notice from VW and here we go again with VW. I have a 2014 tdi, which is in litigation with the epa, value of the car has plummeted. Now I have this takata defect, which there is no fix by VW yet. Eleven people have been killed and they want me to continue to drive this loaded gun and make car payments. There is no ergency by VW based on the recall notice, since no VW's have been in an accident that the takata air bag caused a death per their letter, yet. What is your life worth"??? lets play russian roulette. Want to play VW" I have a friend that had a 2014 accura SUV that had this takata inflators and her dealer called her in and made a great deal on a 2016, with no money exchanging hands, and keeping the same note balance and payments. What a dealership!

I just recently purchased this 2014 VW Passat from Nissan and they did not reveal all the recalls on this vehicle! I'm really dissatisfied with the Nissan dealership as I feel this is being deceitful, not to mention very unsafe for me and my family. Dishonest!!!!! to say the least!

Takata recall my car cannot be replaced with new parts as the parts are not available now. However, I am not comfortable to keep driving the car with airbag issues. I contacted to both the local dealer and Volkswagen to seek for a loner car before my car gets fixed. But both them refuse to privde a loner car.

Takata recall I have requested a loaner vehicle as well as being let out of my lease due to the fact that Volkswagen does not have replacement parts available. I feel this is unfair to put me in a situation where I have to use my own discretion to drive the vehicle, just going by the notice that was mailed to me. How am I supposed to use my discretion if I don't know if my car is preforming properly? I have requested to be let out of my lease and Volkswagen has denied my request. I now have to continue making payments for a car that potentially should not be driven.

We received a recall letter from VW (NHTSA: 16V078, recall 69M9) alerting that our car contains a potentially lethal takata airbag. The letter said that VW would be in touch when replacements were available but did not specific when any time frame or financial remedy. My local dealer's service center also had no information. Customer service at VW was unable to tell me if a fix would take weeks or years. This means I am left with a a car that is not safe to drive and no timely recourse or even information.

Takata inflators, airbag inflated on it's own while turning left into a parking lot and caused my wife to loose control and hit a stationary object-sign pole causing major damage ($8,000) to this vehicle. Vehicle in repair facility for almost 2 months awaiting replacement airbag and seatbelt part from VW. Airbag inflated and seatbelt locked up on passenger side.

Upon pulling out of a parking space and turning the steering wheel there was a cracking noise and then the airbag light went off with an airbag warning. At which point all mechanisms within the steering wheel stopped working. I called my local dealer only to be informed that my VIN was not affected by the air bag clock spring failure and I would have to pay to have it diagnosed and fixed. There is currently a recall report receipt date: Aug 04, 2015 NHTSA campaign number: 15V483000 component(s): Air bags NHTSA action number: PE15010 air bag clockspring failure: For this exact same issue affecting the Passat 2010,2012-2014 mine is also a 2014 and is not covered because my VIN was supposedly not affected.

Takata recall I bought this car brand new, now upon checking the VIN number I discovered that I'm driving a car with faulty takata airbag. Recall status: Recall incomplete remedy not yet available. How is this possible" takata knows about their faulty airbags since 2004 and yet 10 years later they are still putting those bags in brand new cars. This should be ilegal how many people need to die so this recall can be complete" so remedy can be available. By the way, the official date of the recall of my car is February 9, 2016. NHTSA recall number: 16V078

Takata recall I was notified when I went in to get my 30,000 mile maintenance done that a recall would soon be out on my vehicle. After doing research online I realized it was on the driver side airbag, with the description " in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death". after speaking with 3 different representatives for VW I have come to find out that my car airbag is under recall with no part to fix it right now, and no time limit as to when it will be fixed. One of these representatives went on to tell me he "highly doubts anything will happen". he can not guarantee my safety when I am on the road and I do not appreciate him thinking he can. I am outraged by this because I drive a minimum of 60 miles a day to and from work and I am 6 months pregnant. I absolutely do not feel safe driving and they have no alternative. I can not believe I am still paying on this vehicle when a part is recalled with no alternative fix for the problem. I know of other vendors who have offered rental cars to their customers who have this same issue...why is this not an option for us? it should be.

Takata recall my car is on the list but the manufacturer is not ready to do what is right. After all these years hearing about takata wrong doings they knew it since 2004, we still have to wait for more people to die? so I have to pay this expensive car that I'm afraid to drive, and I am on the road everyday. Despicable.
