I AM UNABLE TO GO ANYWHERE BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHEN THE CAR IS GOING TO ACT UP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED ON 8/28/18 TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR BUT WHEN I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE, I CAME OUT AND WAS UNABLE TO GET THE KEY TO GO INTO THE IGNITION. WHEW!!!! THIS IS AWFUL BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

After getting out of work, went to store, and when returned to car, was unable to insert key into ignition. At first I thought I must be in the wrong car! Nope, all my stuff WAS in this car,so I must be in my car! I tried and tried to push key into slot, but I just wouldn't go in at all! I searched online and found that this happened with some 2005 Passats and a few BMW's. I read and tried everything. I called the used car manager I bought the car from, but she didn't answer. Finally, I was so angry, I tried using a pocket knife to poke into the hole. I couldn't see welll enough using my cell phone light to see what happened, but it slid onto the slot, and then I wiggled it and jiggled it, took it out, and after that the slot accepted my key. Once home I was scared to take the key out. Others with this problem had left their key in the ignition and covered it with a black rag, using their second key to gain access. I doubt that this model year would lock with a key in the ignition, so I prayed and took it out. Then I squirted a bit of general purpose oil in, and lubed up the key. Fortunately, so far it hasn't happened again!

I am unreliable as a person if I can't crank up my car. The damn key won't go into the ignition. I don't know what to do and where to take it without it costing me a fortune.
