I saw the recall on this website earlier this year so I made an appointment with my local Volkswagen dealership. When I arrived, the service manager said they did not have the parts. I asked if there was a loaner vehicle because I drive 100 miles per day to work and I do not feel safe. They just looked at me and said, 'uh...no'.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that the manufacturer was unable to provide the part to schedule a repair appointment concerning NHTSA campaign number: 19V014000 (air bags). The contact purchased the vehicle from ventura Volkswagen (3270 perkin ave, ventura, ca 93003, 1-(833) 214-7714). The dealer advised the contact to call karmart of maui (411 huku lii pl #103, kihei, hi 96753, (808) 419-7400). Karmart of maui indicated that they were not authorized by the manufacturer and had no tools to service the recall campaign. Clock spring failure!!! clock spring failure!!! clock spring failure!!! while moving and executing a right turn a crunching noise was heard from the center of the steering wheel. The airbag light immediately came on. Also, the horn & all steering wheel buttons/controls failed. This car was purchased a week prior from carvana. 49,300 miles on the odo. Too late to return it. The clock spring failure means that the airbag system is not active until the part is replaced, installed, and the system is reset. A quick read thru of these numerous complaints from model year 2015 show these failures of a safety-critical part over the last 18 months are now occurng with increasing frequency. It is quite obvious to me that vwoa/chattanooga installed the same defective part, from the same supplier, that fails after about 2.5-3 years in service. This problem is no different than that of the thousands of identical failures in VW Passat model years 2012, 2013, & 2014 leading to a recall of the defective component. Immediate action is required by dot to readdress and recall this previously recalled part. VW dealers are currently charging 2015 Passat owners between $500 and $800 to install a $35 part. If their Passat is older than 2015, the part is installed gratis as part of that recall.. VW will not act until prompted/ordered to do so. Something is rotten in wolfsburg again! let's quickly act before more are harmed/killed because an airbag system failed to operate when parameters dictated it should have deployed.

Loss of airbags, power brakes, power steering, transmission shifting functions, engine hesitation. Indicator lights on dash flash or stay on steady include: Coil, steering wheel, air bag, ABS, image of car skidding, brakes, and tire inflation. The speedometer does not work and the fuel gauge just keeps sweeping. The rev limiter does not work either. The auto start feature is non functional and the push button to stop the motor from running must be pressed twice instead of once. Car had this discrepancy on 30 Jan 2019, 06 Feb 2019, and now 27 Feb 2019. The dealers keep working on a grounding nut but the problem keeps persisting. Problem has always accursed immediately after starting the car, not while driving.

Takata recall: I want to voice my concern over the policy of Volkswagen not to issue loaner vehicles to owners with the takata driver side air bags. After several phone conversations with a representative of their case management team (rcm), their conclusion is that it not a safety issue granting the need for them to issue a loaner vehicle. I disagree to the point that we are currently not driving vehicle because we do not feel safe. And to make matters worse, they could not tell me when parts are going to be available to fix it. I know several car manufactures have loaner programs for their customers with this issue. I think the NHTSA should have a policy that all car manufactures should have to issue loaner vehicles to their customers with this issue. To be clear, we have not had an air bag deployment with our vehicle, I just wanted the NHTSA to be aware of what car manufactures are telling their customers.

This first was notice when car was parked and started to drive on the highway steering wheel makes a clicking noise when its is turned. At the same time as the noise started the air bag light can on and stays on. This is the 2nd time this has happened. VW said it is a wiring problem from the airbag modulal to the sensor instead of a direct fix they did a overlay of the circuit wires. This has now failed.

I was parked on flat ground while starting my car this morning and noticed the air bag light on the dash board stayed light. Then I noticed the stereo control on the steering wheel was not light and did not work. At work I did some research and found that it could be the clock spring. When I got home from work I tested my horn to find that my horn does not work. My vehicle has 47773 miles and I bought it new. I'm almost positive it is the clock spring after all the research I have done. I feel VW should extend the recall past 2014 because it seems obvious that the issue continued into 2015 models.

The issue is im having that I have an airbag warning on for a seat that no one hardly evers sits in. Im single so 98% of the time im alone in my vehicle so why would the passenger seat being displaying an issue. So, also at 66, 250 im experiencing an issue with needing a waterpump and thermostat which will cost $1100 that I don't have. Im reviewing all the issues you are having with these parts I did have mastertech for warrnaty so now its ran out at 60,000 miles. I feel this issue you are having with this vehicle needs to be repaired through VW. These are too soon for these issues to be occuring on a vehicle. Im disappointed because I baby my car over bumps, railroad crossings. I treat this vehicle like a Mercedes.so, I would love to have feedback on what you can do to help me in this situation.

I am requesting that dot NHTSA investigate a safety issue with clock switch part on my 2015 VW Passat, which controls both the air bags and the horn. I purchased the car new in Sept 2015. I started my car with 42,500 miles and the airbag light came on and stayed on. The vehicle was stationary in a flat parking lot the first time I noticed the air bag light. When I drove the vehicle and turned the steering wheel there were clicking noises coming from the steering wheel area. When I got home, I googled a couple possible causes and scheduled the vehicle in to a mechanic. Before I could get vehicle in for service, the horn and other steering wheel controls went out. I was left without airbags and a horn on a vehicle that I drive daily. The mechanic determined that the clock spring needs to be replaced. I am responsible for all repair costs. An August 2015 clock spring recall included 416,000 vehicles including 2010-2014 Passat vehicles. My vehicle repair is for the same part, but the year of vehicle is not included in the recall.

Clock spring failed. If accident were to happen, airbags wouldn't deploy due to failed clock spring. Very frustrating to spend $700 to repair the clock spring, considering VW has known about this issue for several years.

I was driving my 2015 VW Passat (in excellent condition) I was pulling into a parking space slowly and as I turned the steering wheel I heard a crumpling noise that sounded like it was coming from my steering column. I stopped immediate and suddenly the dash board read "airbag error". I proceeded into the parking space slowly, turned the car off and called my VW dealer. We set an appointment to have it looked at. After about 10 miles of drive time on my way home, all of my other steering wheel components (raido, dash controller, voice controller, had all stopped working. When I got home I did my research and have discovered the airbag error along with the other steering components failing.. is very common in 2015 Passats! I feel this needs to be addressed as a safety recall. What ever is causing the airbag to become malfunctioned needs to be addressed. I have made an appointment with my VW service department. They want $145 to take it apart and assess what went wrong. Will keep you posted.
