Routan SEL Premium 68,800

  • Automatic transmission
  • 67,500 miles

Right around the 66,500-67,000 mile mark, I noticed the VW Routan was pulling to the right a bit. Since it was just over 65k miles, I thought it was due for an alignment job. After a few hundred more miles, the Traction Control light came on. After a few days, the vehicle was pulling even more to the right and I felt the vehicle slip when making left turns. I took it to my local mechanic who told me that it was a clock spring warning light and it needs to be fixed by the dealership because his system is unable to reset the programming on the power steering of VW vehicles. Even the scan tool said to bring it to the dealership. After taking it to the dealership who took three days to diagnosis it, two days for the part to arrive and one day to fix it ($600 later). Very unhappy owner.
