Premature wear at 18,854 miles / rear only

This is a well known problem - and I've heard about it but thought nothing of it until today when I took my car in for the two year/20,000K service. The rear brakes were down to 4MM and the fronts were at 10MM. This is a well known issue with the TAOS, and one that will prevent me from buying another VW until they have a fix. There is no reason that I should have to replace the pads and the rotors on a leased car at 18,854 miles. It's a TAOS for god sake - you can't even drive it rough if you wanted to. I'm very easy on my car. I think it has to do with the adaptive cruise control because it keeps you at an EXACT set speed. I drive a lot of hills around Lake Tahoe and Souithern California. Needless to say I've NEVER had to replace brake pads at 18,8K - at 26 months I'm lucky I haven't driven the thing more - that would be a brake job every year - at a cost of 800.00 bucks from VW. Just want you to know in case your considering a TAOS - do your homework. Jackson, San Diego.
