I bought the car in early April last year and had to sink a ton of money into it in May due to an oil leak. no lights came on to warn me but found a huge oil puddle in my mom's driveway. not too many people here will work on volkswagen's and no one but the dealer would touch the oil leak. then they over filled it and I drove over a 1,000 out of town on vacation before realizing when i got home that there was too much oil in the car!!!!! I had a strange light come on and took it to a different shop, not the dealer, and they found that the oil was too full so took it to the dealer to have fixed and thankfully the light went off and did not come back on as the shop said that it was a major issue if the light didn't go and stay off. thankfully it did. but now i am dealing with the timing tensioner issue after the deadline for the class action suit!!! :(

Oil leak report and looked at in Oct 2017, Took to White Rock Volkswagen, no leak. Oil change done in Jan 2018, no leak. Oil leaks out of valve cover gasket, flows down engine to water pump gasket, swelling gasket which in turn breaks composite (F*cking Plastic!) water pump. $3000 Cdn to fix. WTF AT 51,500 miles!!

Ok, they did a 31 point inspection, main fan not working which in turn has over used the secondary fan, both need replacing.....another $800 Cdn. WTF!!

This car is awful! Over $6000 in repairs since it was off warranty.

Rear main seal leak. Rear main seal was replaced at 83,000 miles and was covered under warranty. Rear main seal failed again at 103,000 miles, 3 months out of warranty. Volkswagen offered no help or solutions other than replacing the rear main seal again at a cost of $2200. My question is why would I pay that much money only to have it fail again in 20,000 miles. Volkswagen should recall these seals and maintain their PCV valves, which are a common cause of the rear main seal failing. They offered me a $1,000 voucher toward a new Volkswagen. Why would I buy a vehicle that won't last past 100,000 miles?
