My check engine light came on, and it turned out being the intake manifold. No issues with driving, I wouldn't have noticed there was a problem if it weren't for the check engine light.

Just want to say that VW should recall all the Tiguans and fix this problem. I called VW Customer Service and they are aware of the problem but they have only recalled all the other models but Tiguans, which makes no sense at all, it's the same engine 2.0 TSI Turbo. I asked if VW could assist with the cost to get it fixed but they said no because it's got 72k miles and far from any warranty when they have cars with the same issue at 20-30k miles.

Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0T TSI Intake Manifold Failure, P2015 Code. The vehicle, had a total power loss. Could not be driven, safely.
Looked on Volkswagen site for the recall. The 2011, no recall posted. After much wasted time searching for a recall on the Internet. I found a Volkswagen user group. One of the members had posted this.
"Volkswagen has called this recall, and update. Not a recall. They have extended the warranty to 10 years, and 120,000 miles." So when you call up your dealer, and tell them that you had the engine code "P2015", and that you wanted it repaired under the update. They will repair it at no charge.
When questioning the person that answered the phone at my Volkswagen dealer. I was told, that it was called and update because, "they would have to many Volkswagen Tiguan owners requesting the repairs if they had all been notified, that their was a recall on the Intake Manifold".
