I first bought this 2011 Tiguan from VW dealer in 2011. It was maintained yearly and used as a family car. Mileage is 49, 227 now but started to leak oil from its 2.0 TSI engine. The VW dealer told me the repair cost is $1,730.61 on me. In my humble opinion, this is VW engine design defect. Should VW cover that cost? How come a engine starts to leak oil at such a low mileage? By Googling, it seems to be common issue to VW TSI engine. Should VW recall that car? Thank you!

2011 VW Tiguan rear main seal leaks causing the check engine light to come one .the water pump has been replaced twice in the last 10 months and it is leaking gain .It has 66k miles only and very well maintained .I have never had major issues with jettas and passat but the vw tiguan is a piece of crap.VW doesn't stand behind what they sell.I WILL NEVER BUY A VW AGAIN .
