The VW Tiguan is a fairly nice vehicle but there is a problem with the TURBO, the problem costs 4K to fix and appears right after the warranty runs out. Check engine light on which makes the car uninspectable and VW will not pay for the repairs!!!! I am stuck with a car payment and a car that has a significant engine issue and I cannot afford to fix it. This is unacceptable and should not happen to a vechicle with 61K miles.
SHAME.

Check Engine light went on while driving and I brought it to my mechanic. He said the pin fell out of the Turbo and it would cost "thousands" to fix. I asked him if it was safe to drive and he said yes. I am NOT having this fixed. This is the THIRD major problem I've had during the 3 years that I've had this car (bought it used, certified, from a VW dealership).
