problem #2

Apr 022025

Tiguan

  • Automatic transmission
  • 51,000 miles

Second time wires broke in steering column. Same results. Steering wheel making loud crackig sounds when turning. Loss of all digital readouts. Nothing on steering column working except blinkers and window washers.

This again was a very frightening experience. You actually don't even know if the steering wheel is working.

Tiguan

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,000 miles

Suddenly, while I was turning the car, I heard a loud snap. Steering wheel started to make horrible cracking sounds. All digital readouts vanished, air bag light on. Very frightening. Took a very long time to fix and cost 1,300.00

Will file another separate complaint, but 13 months later it happened again. And parts were not covered under warranty. A COSTLY AND FRIGHTENEING EXPERIENCE.

The first time this happened I had less than 50,00 miles on my 2016 Tiguan. Second time 51,000.
