Tiguan Comfortline 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,710 miles

I went t the mechanic for the check engine light on which was related to the secondary air pump (other complaint made.. but the pump works great).

Then, the mechanic tells me that I have misfire in cylinder no.3. He can see it from a code related to the check engine light. He said I can feel that the car 'is not taking his gas' and it slows to accelerate. I experienced it a few time since I had the car.

I'm waiting for my other appointment for the official diagnostic and if it is covered, the warranty will pay for the repairs.

Tiguan SEL Sel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,206 miles

My experience with Volkswagen has been awful! My Tiguan 2018 was only 4 months old with 4,206 miles on it, brand new. The car suddenly stopped with the car running on the highway. I had to call VW for road assistance and two days later I was informed that the engine had to be replaced. I expressed that I did not want the vehicle anymore, that I wanted a brand new car due to the unclear problems that arose. As for the dealer's service, very disappointing as well. I was given a sedan as my replacement even after I stated that I am disabled and unable to bend down in the car. To this day, I still have not received the SUV that was promised to me.

Update from Feb 16, 2019: Before the car had an issues, I noticed there was a lag in acceleration. I am unaware if the issue comes from the transmission or any other case.
