problem #2

Tiguan SEL 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles

The passenger seatbelt sensor buzzer kept going off when I was driving because it must have felt someone was sitting in the seat when there was not anyone else in the car. I had to pull over and take the seatbelt and clip it in order to turn it off.

Tiguan SEL 2.0L T

  • Automatic transmission
  • 300 miles

When I put my hangbag on the passenger seat in my 2019 Tiguan SEL....The seatbelt alert sound goes off and the airbag light above the hazard light starts flashing as if a passenger is sitting in the seat. I brought it into the dealership and reported this instance and was told that I should either buckle my purse in or put it on the ground. The head of the service Department told me that that’s just the way the T1C is and that it states in the manual to put nothing on the seat. Not sure if I left my purse there or taco dip into the seat that the airbags would go off if I got into an accident with no passenger there. I have never seen this happen in any automobile in my entire life. It is unacceptable.
