problem #2

Sep 092021

Tiguan S 2.0L Tsi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,000 miles

When letting off the accelerator to slow down, the vehicle downshifts and it is not smooth. Upon accelerating from a stop, the vehicle shifts hard.

Update from Feb 3, 2022: Resolved, traded vehicle in on different brand.

Tiguan S 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

2019 Tiguan S 4Motion purchased brand new Feb 2020 and after 8k miles it’s already having shifting issues. It will jerk and hard shift both up and down. Up is typically around 30-40mph and hard downshift normally occurs in the 20mph area. Has been happening consistently the past few days after about half hour of driving. Dealer took it for a 5min drive and couldn’t recreate the issue. Told them it needs to be after a longer drive but until they can recreate the issue, there’s no problem with my car apparently. Called VW Corp and supposedly have a case started with them to have dealer resolve issue. Will see what happens.
