Tiguan SE RLine 2.0t

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,256 miles

When trying to take off from a cold start. The car lurches and feels like there is something wrong with the transmission. If you punch the throttle, it takes off. From what I read and was told from the dealer, they recommend that you allow your engine to warm up to the point where the RPM's drop to below about 1K RPM. On cold days, that could take about 90 seconds or more.

It's annoying when you are in a hurry and just want to start the engine and take off like most other cars.

I have noticed that when I do allow it to warm up the lurching is not near as bad or even noticeable.

Tiguan

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

The car will stall when accelerating from a complete stop. It hesitates for a second or two. It is long enough to be dangerous in traffic when pulling out from an intersection. We have had it to the local dealership 3 times and so far they say they cannot duplicate the problem.

Went to take off from a stop sign and I was in pretty clogged traffic. Went to accelerate from a stop. ZERO! movement from the car for at least 2 seconds! I could have been killed!
