To anyone thinking of purchasing a Volkswagen, DON'T!! RUN FOR THE HILLS!! Purchased in 2011, and have not had one day of enjoyment with this vehicle!!!! There is ALWAYS A PROBLEM GOING ON!!
First off, I was told my Touareg was a 2006, but on the contract, said 2004. I informed the salesman and the financial rep of this and they were not concerned!! Her exact words were, " Soooooo" What??? So what? Unfortunately, I noticed this after signing the contract. After this issue, everything went downhill from there. From electrical issues, transmission, lies about repair work. Got drive shaft repaired, ongoing issues with false sensor lights. Specifically the flat tire sensor.
Took it to the dealer (VW) and being the geniuses they are, could not fix the problem. So I was sent home with this very annoying problem. As of Feb.2015, I continue to deal with this. Also, the battery is under the driver's seat, (Prospective buyers) so beware! Had a hard time, finding a mechanic, that would change out my dead battery and replace a new one. I definitely was not going back to the Dealership!! Those people are scammers, and will find every trick in the book to get more money our of your pocket. I brought a $2,000 factory warranty, and when I tried to use it, they told me that a part was "broken" in the engine." Really??? Mind you, they were the first people to work on my vehicle, from day of purchase. I know in my heart, and so do they that, there was no broken part!! Unfortunately, I cannot prove this. So guys, my warranty has expired! What a waste of money!!!
If ever you are in the Baltimore area, STAY AWAY FROM RUSSELL VOLKSWAGEN IN ELLICOTT CITY, AS WELL AS HERITGAGE VOLKSWAGEN IN OWINGS MILLS, MD. You better do your research, for estimates, read the reviews, ask questions, consult with as many mechanics as possible, before taking your vehicle to the dealership. In my opinion, they do not care about their customers. Period!! I believe I was sold a vehicle that was knowingly, defective, and should not have been on the lot for sale, but rather should have been sold for parts. I am on a quest to receive a total refund for my pain and suffering, with this piece of crap vehicle!!
Russell and Heritage Volkswagen, and the likes...When you treat honest, hard working people the way you have done, are doing and will continue to do....YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOW. REMEMBER THAT!! God is watching.!! He sees and knows all!!
