Short story behind my 2005 VW Touareg..
Purchased in December of 2010 from a VW Dealer in South Florida. The truck had some issues already that the dealer claimed they missed during inspection. Dealer claims car was never in accident however this is to be believed as untrue as there are bolts missing on front end and other signs.
1. Touareg taillights have water in them after rain storm on the way home to Orlando. Dealer resolved
2. Headliner falls on me 2 days later, dealer in south florida refuses to resolve, Orlando dealer resolves.
3. Evidently cover up paint was used on carpets as few months later this orangish color starts bleeing through, now they look horrible.
4. All of the buttons peel. within just a few months they are all nasty looking. This is common on VW's, not as much as Audi. My Audi TT did not have issues like this. I will have photos to show this disgusting trend that VW won't resolve. It looks nasty and have had several people say they wanted a VW but after seeing the buttons wear like this they won't buy one - as VW doesn't care about their customers to resolve.
5. Rear seat belt locks up, passenger can't get out it's so tight. He finally pulls on it so hard it brakes the release. VW in Orlando can't believe this, and resolves.
6. Paint, Paint, Paint. I have called on this 3 times and no one will respond or help. The hood, the roof, is all peeling. VW associate Kathleen admits that there are problems with black paint. She tells me she would gladly do what she can to resolve, then she finds out i'm the second owner. This should not matter. If they are going to stand behind their product with owner 1. They should do it for owner 2 as well. I then call 2 other times to see if I could get someone that would help me keep a good relationship with VW. Clearly they do not care. I have owned 2 Audis and now 1 VW. VW being the worst and if they will not resolve the paint issue, why would I purchase another?
7. Fuel pumps (both) went at the same time. Thank god for extended warranty (aftermarket) not VW. They are resolving this.
8. Aluminum trim. VW has replaced many of folks trim due to their poor build quality. As far as I know, no one can document this ever being done on my truck. Calls to VW have gone to the wayside with promises of phone calls turning into lies!
Now today, electrical issue with lights on compass going in and out. And AC making loud whining sound in car.

Where do I begin? You would think with paying over $40,000 for a car that you're getting quality - not with Volkswagen! Exterior paint is pealing from the hood, roof, door handles, wheel flares. Started with this weird haze on the paint in 2010 then in a matter of several month the clear coat popped and now I have clear coat pealing everywhere on the car.
I called Volkswagen about it - and the lady said yes they know they had a problem with the pain but there was nothing they can do. Great! Just Great!. Now let's move inside - Again that special soft touch rubber like coating on buttons and switches all pealing! Looks horrible! On some of my buttons its now just a red glowing button cause there is no more rubber!
Let's talk about the electrical gremlins. There are MANY! Can't tell you how many times my Light Bulb light comes on randomly. My lights are working perfectly but that damn warning light keeps popping up. Have to turn off the car and restart to get the light to turn off. The AC is a constant problem. The car is actually in service as I write this for another AC problem.
The sunroof leaks into my headliner causing a nice stain near the back passenger roof handles. Volkswagen instead of issuing a warranty recall for the sunroof leak named it technical issue so they can get out of issuing a warranty.
My other car is a 2004 Chevy truck and it has aged so much better than this damn Touareg. Whenever someone asks me if I like my car I say F$#K NO! Don't ever buy Volkswagen! They don't stand behind their product and service costs are outrageously expensive. I will NEVER buy another German car EVER!
