I owned this vehicle for five years. I loved this car but when the extended warranty ran out I had to get rid of it. This is a list of problems that I had to deal with. 1. Timing chain tensioner sticking. Had to pull the entire engine to repair 2. Drive selector skirt ripped 3. Both Catalytic Convertors had to be replaced 4. All the Tire Air pressure sensors bad 5. Tires wore premature. Had to replace all four. My cost 6. Brakes Screeching. Had to replace. My cost/ 7. Catalytic Convertors (AGAIN) 8. Timing Chain (AGAIN) 9. Headlight alignment 10. Spark Plug broke off inside cylinder. Destroyed Piston, Wall sleeve and valves 11. Tire pressure sensors (AGAIN) 12. Some sort of injector inside to engine was bent? Had to pull motor to replace. 13. Transmission fluid line broke puked fliud all over the road. Had the Fire Dept clean up the mess. 14. Headlight alignment (AGAIN) 15. Rear Seat belt jammed could not return the back seat to the upright position. 16. Dash Trim Cracked

I'm sure I missed a few things. I finally gave up on it when it had to be towed because it would not stay running. Like I said this could be a very nice vehicle if VW can work out the gamut of problems. I paid $35,000 I also bought a secondary warranty insurance that covered bumper to bumper when I bought the car. They paid $25,000 in repair costs. VW paid NOTHING.

My son & I had just left our home enroute to school & to work, respectively; when our vehicle was hesitating when trying to accelerate & shaking/vibrating really bad. I notified the Volkswagen dealer & took the vehicle in to them; had just picked it up from the dealer 2 days before for another repair. The Service advisor reported that the current problem was due to a broken coil. I complained & asked if this problem could not have been foreseen when they ran a diagnostic for the previous repair; was told no. I'm really unhappy because I now have to pay an additional $100 or so for this new repair on top of the $865 I have already paid them. I really believe they had prior knowledge of this problem or deliberately caused the problem to get additional revenue. I can't understand how my vehicle was operating fine when I picked it up from the dealer & then 2 days later something else goes bad without it having shown up on the diagnostic.
