I have a black 2011 C-30. I live in the gulf south and run it through the car wash at least once a week. There was a lot of stains on my hood and toward the front of the roof. Having it detailed didn't help because the 'bug juice' ate through the clear coat.
Never have I had that problem with a car. The place where I got a quote to get it repainted claimed that black cars in our climate basically become griddles in the summer and escalate the acids in the 'bug juice'.
And yet, I hadn't heard of this problem before and was floored. Surely the paint would be formulated for a variety of climates.
