EVERY TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE, I MENTIONED THAT THE PROBLEM EXISTED. IT WAS VERY SPORADIC AND NEITHER THE DEALER THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM OR THE DEALER THAT I WAS TAKING MY CAR TO COULD TELL ME WHY IT WAS HAPPENING AND COULDN'T CORRECT THE SITUATION. IT GOT SO BAD THAT I REPORTED IT TO VOLVO AS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM TO HAVE THEM FIX IT. SINCE IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY THEY WANTED $595 TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE LATCH. NEITHER DEALER WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR NOT FIXING IT WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I AM HOPING THE VOLVO OF AMERICA WILL GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED FOR ME.
