Initially in the summer of this year (first summer with the car) my A/C was very loud and made a screeching sound when turned on. When taking it to the dealership for one of its numerous other issues I pointed that out. They made note of it and said they were ordering me a new A/C compressor. Three weeks after this, it failed completely. I called them to tell them (beginning of July mind you) and they told me "they don't make A/C compressors for that car and they won't any time soon" and with that said, I told them put me in a loaner, it's over 100 degrees and I drive six hours a day for a living, while being on the phone. I can't do my job if the windows are down on the highway. They said they wouldn't give me a loaner for an indefinite period of time, no dealership would. Well this was Volvo of Southborough MA. They lied right to my face. Must be easy because I'm a 24 year old girl. I called Volvo corporate and filed a complaint. They said that was outrageous, they make A/C compressors, and in our computer they didn't even look at your car and order one. I then took it to Viti Volvo, where the following day they put me in a brand new loaner car, for a few days, while they completed replaced my A/C compressor. They confirmed the belt snapped. Viti has grade A service. I was impressed at how well they treated me. I would buy another Volvo in the future based on how pleasant they were to deal with. Unfortunately for Volvo, because of the incredible amount of issues I've had in my car, I switched from a 20,000$ cpo s60 I bought 8 months prior to a brand new Lexus. Lexus has been ranked the most reliable brand 5 years in a row. Cheers!
