I think the first problem was that we bought a Volvo from a Saturn dealership, saying that if you have problems just bring it in and we will give you a rental car! So now we take the car strait to the Volvo dealership and then they (Saturn and the Volvo dealership) can fight to see who is going to pay for the $75 Diagnostic fee that I am not going to pay for. On to the car, it is one of the best cars I have ever driven! The handling is great, and the turbo engine provides a lot of power for a bigger luxury sedan. The problem we are having is that a message comes on stating “emission system service required” and the “check engine” light comes on 3 or 4 days after refueling. The dealership told me that I put the gas cap on wrong. Looking at him with a straight face I said, “I must be the biggest moron, being that I can’t put a gas cap on right. So do you think I have been doing it wrong for the last 17 years”? How do you put a gas cap on wrong, he said you need to hear 4 to 6 clicks so it is tight. That was the first time I went in. The second time was because the car was over heating and the emission system service required and the check engine light were still on. This time they replaced the fan in the car, which cost $549.82, and insisted that we were still putting the gas cap on wrong. Even though they proclaimed that nothing was wrong with the gas cap, I had them replace the existing cap because $20 is still less expensive than the $75 diagnostic fee.
