Bought this car thinking we would get somewhere close to 39 MPG highway/30 MPG city as stated by the EPA estimates. After our first highway trip, cruising at 75 MPH we didn't even get 30 MPG in "Eco Mode". Highest we have gotten is ~31 MPG with "hyper-mileing" style driving, ie. coasting, extremely light acceleration, lower speeds, etc. It gets about 27 MPG combined. Not really a huge problem per se, but the higher fuel mileage was a major factor in us choosing this car. Had we known the real world MPG would be 30 or less, we would have just gotten the AWD V60 or the comparably priced/sized/equipped Lexus CT200h Hybrid wagon. But, hindsight is always 20/20 and we still love the wagon anyways.
