About These NHTSA Complaints:

2010 Volvo XC60 surged on three occasions while stopped at a red light. The consumer stated the first time the incident happened, the vehicle began to move forward and the tachometer reading was 2500 RPM. The light happened to turn green before the vehicle went any further. The second time, the same thing happened. The third time, while at a red light, the vehicle surged and the tachometer reading was 4500 RPM. The consumer placed the gear in neutral and the tachometer increased to 5500 RPM. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they were unable to find a problem. Since the vehicle was a lease, the dealer gave the consumer another vehicle, same make and model. However, the replacement vehicle also surged while stopped at a red light and shot forward into the rear of another vehicle.
