Audi says instrument panel software errors can cause the panels to go dark and fail to display engine speed (RPM), vehicle speed and gear/mode indicators, and functions such as time, date and mileage.
"Within the virtual cockpit, malfunction of a specific flat cable could occur. Even with only a minor damage to this flat cable, the software is so sensitive that it detects a slightly increased contact resistance and shuts down the display to protect it." — Audi
About 3,900 of the Audi vehicles are recalled in Canada.
Audi dealers will update the instrument panel module software after recall letters are mailed May 30, 2025.
