— A Ford E-Transit Chassis Cab recall has been announced because the high voltage batteries could short circuit and cause fires.
Owners are warned to park outside and away from anything that could catch fire.
The recall includes nearly 500 model year 2024-2025 Ford E-Transit Chassis Cab vehicles with high voltage batteries that can short circuit from water.
Ford says the tray side rails for the electric vehicle battery pack may buckle and crack, allowing water to enter the battery.
About 20 of the vehicles are recalled in Canada.
Ford E-Transit Chassis Cab recall letters will be mailed May 5, 2025, and dealers will repair or replace the battery assemblies.
