I'm terribly upset after yet another terrifying moment in my new car. I purchased a brand new Pacifica in May and it's now September and in that time frame I have had 3 significant problems. This problem involved the alert system. I was driving to pick up my daughter from pre-school and the traffic was very light. I would say there were maybe 3 other cars and the nearest one was more than a safe distance away, when all of a sudden all of these warning sounds start going off and the speedometer display screen is flashing in large red letters "BRAKE".
There was absolutely no reason for me to brake, I was more than a safe distance away from the nearest car. It was extremely alarming and caused me to panic for a brief moment. I'm not entirely sure that the chimes stopped on their own or if I gently tapped the brakes and they went off.
