The problem described below has been present since December 2018. (The SUV had around 36,000 miles).
It started with a soft noise (hum) coming from the front wheels when the car was running. From that date on, the noise started to increase day by day. In order to correct the problem, on January 25th, 2019, we proceeded to rotate the tires. RESULT: The noise persisted.
Thinking that the problem was related with the original Continental tires, even though they had almost 15% tread life on it, on April 5th, 2019, we changed the whole set of four tires for a new brand set of four. The tires were balanced and the steering was aligned at a professional shop. RESULT: The noise is still there.
Even when the car is rolling with the transmission in NEUTRAL the noise is there like a permanent wa… wa… wa. At low speed the humming noise is there. At high speed the noise intensifies. When the car stops with the engine running at idle, there is not noise. The brakes are working properly.
CONCLUSION: We have to change the two front wheel bearings and the drive shaft.

It is unbelievable that a car with only 38k miles has worn-out the two front bearings and one shaft. This car has been driven on street roads only. Never on unpaved roads. What happened with Ford quality parts? At 8k miles the transmission was jumping and thudding like crazy and the solenoids were replaced. Is this car a PC?
