First of all, I'm not sure they believed me about the radio. It would say "audio off". When I would be in there for service and tell them about it, they said they had to "see" it doing that in order to fix it, but it was so random that I just had to wait until it did it again. Finally it did. I was able to drive the 30 minutes to let them see it and I got it to the service dept. I had already figured out a fix for it.

When it said "audio off", if I would turn the car off and open a door and shut it again and then start the car again, then it would be fine. Just turning the car off and restarting it wouldn't do it. I had to open a door also. They didn't know what was wrong with it, so they put a new module in it. That fixed that problem, but then it would say "loading" for the radio part. And it was the same remedy as the other one. As long as I just drove as it was doing that, it would keep going.

Once I stopped, turned the car off and opened the door, it once again was fine. So, NOW the problem has gone to my phone syncing to the car. As long as I drive, I can't get my phone to sync with the car. But if I stop, turn the car off and open the door, then start the car again it is ok. When the car wouldn't sync with my phone, I couldn't even adjust the Bluetooth button on the car. My phone said there was nothing to sync it to. It was like it was frozen in the off position.

My dealer has told me that I am one in 6 people in the country that is having the problem with my car. Supposedly Ford is working on coming up with an update to take care of the problem. It has to have something to do with the radio, and a car door. The phone thing is new though. The fix Ford is working on was just for the radio. Just turning the car off doesn't fix it, you have to open a door also.

Escape Titanium 2.0L L4

  • Automatic transmission

Has the Sony Sirius premium radio. Signal from Sirius is very erratic.. Seems to go into 'acquiring signal mode' frequently, even where there are NO obstructions.Sound is tinny, and 'warbles' on most stations Called Sirius, they told me that this is a Sirius radio, NOT a Sirius XM radio, hence the bad reception. They blame it on Ford, Ford blames it on Sirius.

My wife's Buick has a Sirius XM radio and reception and sound are impeccable..

I was under the impression (as stated in the brochures) I looked at, that this WAS a Sirius XM radio. I think I need some legal advise on a possible 'false advertising' or class action suite.. I wonder how many people out there think they have a Sirius XM radio in their 2016 Escape, when in reality, it is NOT..

I had it for over a year now and Ford dealer just shrugs and says it is the Sirius satellite. Getting a little tird of hearing crappy sound out of a system I paid a lot of money for..

Update from Oct 25, 2016: I finally got Ford to 'fess up' that there was a problem. They acknowledged that there was a problem with the antenna. They replaced the stanchion, part number G1BZ18936BA and lo and behold, the PROBLEM IS FIXED.If not under warranty, this would have been a very pricey repair. I have a feeling they don't want this admittance 'out in the open', but here it is..

Escape Titanium 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40 miles

The same problem as another reported. Sirius constantly cuts out and needs to find signal. Also very tinny sounding. I thought it was where I was driving, but I drove my husbands edge the same route and it never happened and the sound was much better. Problem has continued, I thought I would just not get the satellite service, but now regular stations have that's high tone tinny quality despite playing with all the speaker settings. I am taking it in next week.

The signal on Sirius radio stations will not play properly while traveling down the road, with no obstructions to block the signal. It does it on multiple stations. Sometimes the black bar at the top of the screen will display 'acquiring signal', then 'reconnecting'. It has happened over 2 dozen times, over many days, while traveling down the interstate.

The radio on the vehicle does not come on when started randomly. You can reach over and manually turn on the radio. Ford is aware of the situation but does not have software to fix the problem yet. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling about making payments on a vehicle with not fix for this.
