Took a quick look up top and my sunroof was closed correctly. I opened the sunroof and poured some water into the channel and water seems to drain down the holes correctly. I also closed the roof all the way and sprayed it with a garden hose, and didnt see any leaking. I cant see where and why water would be leaking out of the overhead console. Did a quick search on youtube and found someone else had this problem, but couldnt find a solution

I took my 2016 Ford Explorer XLT on Dec 29th 2020 to get a oil change etc. They had the vehicle all day even though I took it in at 7am. I pick it up a 4:45 pm then drive it home because I work from home I did not drive it again until Saturday Jan 9th 2021, while driving it that morning I realized that the steering wheel was hard to steer and the truck would make noises when I turn the steering in either direction. I took it in to the dealership that morning and asked the service consultant to take a look at it. He told me while my father was on the phone that he believes it the rack and pinion and he can't take it because they are busy and it's okay for me to drive it. I also told him at that time I am supposed to drive out of town and I won't be back for awhile so if there is a problem I rather leave it so it can be fixed. I have damaged on my C5 vertebrae so I can feel the hardness in the steering. He assured or dismissed me but he said it's fine. A few hours later the steering wheel seized up and the dashboard started making noise and the warning lights and messages started to displaying. It almost killed both my mother and I on the highway. If you know nyc highway you know there is no shoulders. When I pulled of the road the steering wheel locked up and I could not move it. I had to pay for the truck to be towed and a uber for myself back to the dealership and then paid for me to get home. Now they are telling me that I have to pay $2719.81 for the rack and pinion repair and the also pay for the strut bearing to be repaired which they haven't given me the price for it because "it was too much to give me both price at once." Oh by the way, this is the same service consultant that told me it was fine for me to drive and almost killed 2 generation of my family at the same time. I am pissed!! now I see other customers complaining about the same issue on there SUV!!

Car went in for recall NHTSA #20V675 and dealer inspected vehicle and informed us, it has failed inspection and will require replacement. They have parts quoted at 4-6 weeks out and we asked about a rental vehicle and were informed that it would not be covered. We asked if the vehicle was safe to drive and they will not state it is safe to drive, so therefore we cannot drive it. Contacted Ford customer service and were informed our rental request was denied and they will not say the car is safe to drive. We cannot be without a car for 6 weeks and cannot afford a rental for that amount of time. Ford should cover rental when parts are not available.

While driving 52mph, cruise control set, clear weather, rural road, traveling straight - no incline or downhill...the vehicle suddenly downshifted to 2nd or 1st gear - thus decelerating rapidly. After a moment, it went back to being able to accelerate and maintain normally. 2016 Explorer Sport with 44K miles...I've had it for about a month.

While I was driving I started to get a strong smell of rotten eggs/sulfur that filled the cabin. It got so strong that I had to roll down the windows to air it out and it started to give me a headache. It happened again while driving back to my home that same day. The smell got so strong it started to make me dizzy, nauseous and gave me a headache.

The first time my steering got stiff on 09/13/2019 while trying to make a left turn on a city street. In the process of making the left turn my steering wheel got stiff, and the steering fault hill start and trac light went on. I was unable to control the steering wheel which cause me to get up onto the side walk and almost hitting a tree. I had to slam on my breaks in order to avoid the accident. My kids body jerk back and forth really hard. I turn my car off and back on, and the steering wheel was was no longer stiff and working. I was able to drive home. The second time steering wheel got stiff was on 10/05/2019. While on the curve of a ramp to get off the freeway the steering wheel got stiff again and the steering fault, hill start and trac lights went on as well. Once again I had to slam on the breaks in or. I der to avoid hitting the rails, as I was not able to control the steering wheel. I try turning my car off and back on again to see if my steering wheel would work again, but it still did not work. I had to call my husband to come pick me up. I took the car to the dealer and I was told that they H.ad to replace the whole power steering equipment which cost me a total of $2350.39

Two separate failure within a four day time span. Company sold me the vehixal said it was a tie rod and fixed the right passenger rear wheel. The vehical was real eased to me today with the understanding that the rear suspension was fully repaired. I had a high speed accident after the left rear tir rod broke at a speed of 80 mph. Due to the suspension breakage, the car went off the interstate at high speed. The rear end suspension had complete failure and the auto dealership released the vehicle to me with the full with assurance the issue was fixed. This was a very serious incident with a potential deadly outcome.

Power locks get stuck on either lock or unlocked not allowing me to either lock or unlock the car door on driver and back passenger door. Plastic stripping panels on front driver and passenger doors are coming off and the panels connected to the windshield on both sides. Power seats do not hold the memory of where it was left. The seat goes all the way up to the steering wheel when memory buttons are pressed or if the keyless code on the door is used to unlocked the car. Keyless entry will unlock without to code being typed in correctly. Using the first three numbers can unlock the door. All of these things happen will the car is stationary.

I have a 2016 Ford Explorer with 94,000 miles. We noticed that the ac was blowing hot air so we took the car in for a repair on 9/8/2020. The dealership called us back to inform us that the water pump had failed which caused antifreeze to leak into and on the ac compressor causing it to fail. We were quoted a price of $2600 for the repair the water pump. I was also told that many police cruisers with the same motor are having the same issue. Ford recommends that the water pump be replaced at 150000 miles' the miles on the SUV are highway miles.

Employee was driving home from work. He had warmed up his car before driving about 10 minutes. All of a sudden his back window exploded. Weather was colder. Found online that there was a problem with Ford's windows having issues with windows getting too hot and then popping when the cold air surrounded it..

When sitting idle and stationary, a strong odor of rotten eggs/exhaust enter the cabin through the air vents. The car continues to have a strong odor after being turned off. The odor was so strong outside the vehicle that we had to park it far away from the house because the smell was coming into the house through the garage. After taking the car to the Ford dealership and them telling us it was fixed, I trusted that the vehicle was safe and took my 4 year old daughter to the grocery store. Immediately at the first stop light and sitting in idle, the odor was released into the cabin of the car- no different than prior to being "fixed." We called the dealership and they told us we had to drive the smell off and push it through the ventilation system. The smell continued without relief and I immediately drove the vehicle home (15 minute drive) with the windows down during an Ohio winter of 34 degrees Fahrenheit for my husband to return the vehicle to the dealership. Upon arriving home, even with the windows down I had a headache and felt nauseous. I would hate to know what would have happened if I continued to drive the vehicle at the dealership's advice. Our vehicle was returned to us a second time and the issue was still unresolved. At this moment, our vehicle is at our local Ford dealership with what seems like no end in sight. Ford has put us back into a faulty and dangerous vehicle twice now and we have little trust or faith that our Ford Explorer will be returned to us as a safe family car. Also to note, we did have the vehicle serviced for recall related to carbon monoxide.
