unintended shift from park to reverse

My mom was getting ready for work, got inside her brand new 2010 Ford F-150 FX4 with Max trailer tow package. only 8 days old mind you.. She started her truck, put her purse down and saw melons that she bought the other day. she was mad and late for a meeting so she got out of the truck, left the drivers door open. She opened the passenger side door and started to grab the melon on the floor board when she herd the transmission pop and the truck started to roll back wards. The truck was in a flat garage with a steep driveway. She ran for the drivers side to step on the brakes since the truck has bucket seats and you cannot reach the brakes.. she barley made it behind the truck as it took off down the steep driveway. The drivers door bent back towards hood, she tries to hop in the truck to slam on the brakes but the door comes back to hit her in the back, truck runs over foot leaving black toes. I was sleeping on the couch and heard the noises ran outside and seen my mom and the ground and yelled what the F***. then seen the truck with the door touching the hood ran jumped into the truck before it hit the neighbors house. stopped it within a few inches. I look down the truck is in DRIVE. Put it in park. I of course put the hazards on and ran to my mom to see if she was ok. she told me to move the truck out of the street. I get in put the truck into drive and check to see if the e brake was on. YUP it was on. parked the truck. took truck to a ford collisions repair and said a 2011 ford Fusion did the same thing to a store in our town. They said they do not know what is causing it. In our case maybe theirs too, it was in park. all the way. We have backup sensors with a review mirror camera. IF it was in reverse when my mom got out she would have herd the sensors going off. or might have seen the back up camera... The E brake was on.. Shouldn't the E brake be strong enough to hold back the truck? EVEN if the truck is cold and idling high?!? Our last truck was a Ford. Same truck, Ford f-150 2003. basically same thing.. she knows how to operate it as what im saying.. What happens when we tow our brand new wakeboard boat and we are launching it at the lake? when we put in park to unhook the boat will it have a mind of its own and go in reverse and put our truck and boat into the bottom of the lake? Starting to think the only thing on this new ford is the hazards..
