F-150 Lariat Super Crew 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200 miles

I purchased the truck new in 2010. Mistake one was not test driving. On my way home, vibration was really bad. Dealership was closed by the time, I got home. I called the next morning and took the truck in. They balanced the tires. Still vibrated on way home. Took back to dealership who kept for 9 days and found nothing they could fix. Over the next two years, I tried to work with Ford Customer Service which was a joke. The dealership told me not to bring the truck back to them because they could not fix. Took to three other dealerships. The vibration is really bad when I tow my boat up hills. One dealership shimmed the angle on the pinion gear and replaced the rear leaf springs. This made no difference. When Ford Customer Service asked me to take back to that dealership. I called for an appointment and the service manager told me there was nothing wrong with my MF..ng truck (his words not mine). Finally contacted the BBB and requested a final repair on my truck. A Ford tech met me at a fifth dealership. We drove the truck with the boat in tow and his equipment confirmed the vibration. He selected another truck on the lot (XLT) and hooked my boat to that vehicle and drove. The same vibration was there. His report states his conclusion that this is characteristic of that model Ford. In my opinion, if every 2010 Ford truck vibrates, every vehicle should be recalled and repaired.

I asked the Ford tech, how I could get rid of the vibration. His advice was the only way you will get rid of the vibration is to get rid of the truck. I paid $46,000+ for the truck. I cannot afford to trade when I'm only 8 payments away from getting this one paid for.

After two years of aggravation, 37 trips to 5 different dealerships and being told there was no fix for my truck, I find out that all those high paid engineers at Ford cannot fix this problem. Looks like they could call someone at Chevrolet or Dodge and find out how they keep their trucks from vibrating.

F-150 Lariat 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 605 miles

I bought this truck new"had 605 miles of delivery on it when I received it" within 12 hours of taking delivery I took a two thousand mile trip for my work. Within the first 600 miles of driving I was forced to stop at the nearest ford dealer along the interstate and complain about excessive vibration that felt like it was a wheel balance issue. After two hours the dealer gave me a TSB report and said it was more work than they could preform with me waiting. I called the dealer where I had purchased the truck and they said the TSB did not include my truck but to bring it back to them for service. When I got back to town a week later I took the truck in and they did a load force balance on the pirilli tires then gave it back to me. The truck still shook badly. After 6 trips to the dealer and a second set of pirilli tires over 5 months and 15000 miles of terrible ride. The truck has been checked for everything and the dealer keeps giving it back without being fixed. I went to an attorney and filed suit on them today!
