F-150 XLT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission

The other morning, I went to start my truck and it was making a weird chirping-like noise. I let it warm up and the noise went away. As soon as I started driving, whenever I give it gas the noise came back. After doing some research online and asking some people I know that work on cars I found out it is an exhaust leak coming from the manifolds. This leak can cause carbon monoxide fumes in the cab which can be extremely dangerous. I also found out it causes the engine to work harder leading it to burn more fuel quicker. I also found out this is a very common issue with the 3.5 ecoboost motors. At the dealership it cost is an average between $2000-2500. This should be a recall due to the health concern for the drivers with excessive carbon monoxide fumes in the cab of the vehicle.
