Unfortunately it's really a common problem. I've also heard that this car suffers from the clugged converter rather often and you can't prevent it. I've also met the problem a couple years ago (I drive Ford Focus 2015) and the dealer also told me that it was a common thing. Recently I've found an article with good information. Still having issue with this car, it has not been fixed right since day one,
issue after issue, fuel and surging are the worst because you do not know if you are gonna go when you step on the gas, it will stall, and or jerk, and or hesitate, This car, is not safe when I go to pull out into traffic, as it may go and it may not go. so far I had to pull over twice from pulling out. and restart the car. had near misses, from other cars trying to pull off on the shoulder. the scary part is my kids are in the car.
