While on my way to winston salem nc I was driving my 2006 Ford Fusion. Then I felt the car going towards the right. I tried to straighten up the car but the steering wheel was stuck. With the steering wheel stuck and my car still going towards the right I struck a parked car on the shoulder of us 52 at about 60 mph. My vehicle came to a stop but the vehicle that I struck went across two lanes of traffic and down an embankment. My wife, daughter and myself were rushed to the hospital along with the driver of the other vehicle. At the hospital I was issued a citation for failure to maintain lane. I plan on going to court in August to fight the ticket because I have read several articles via the internet and noticed that the same thing has happened to other drivers of the Ford Fusion. Also my wife also told me that she felt the car pulling to the right on another occasion but she felt something pop and she was able to steer the car with no further issues.

The power steering on my car failed today. On my way to work the steering became difficult. At lunch, the steering started to really be difficult and locked up as I pulled into the lot. We checked the power steering fluid and it was full. After work, I headed home. The car was okay to begin with but the longer I drove the harder the steering became- it became increasingly hard to turn corners. I started having to use two hands to turn the wheel. Finally, while turning right, the power steering failed.the steering wheel locked up wouldn't turn the wheels at all. I got very lucky and happened to be turning into my driveway when the steering locked for good. Once the car cooled, we were able to move my car completely into the driveway and park. Had I been on a street or the highway when making that turn, there would have been no way for me to complete the turn and a crash or accident would have been a very very good possibility.

The contact owns a 2006 Ford Fusion. The contact was driving in reverse when the power steering assist failed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for inspection. The contact was advised that the power steering safety tension pulley had disconnected from the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified of the incident. The approximate failure mileage was 90126.

2006 Fusion sel. 1) ignition key gets stuck in ignition. Approximately 9 incidents beginning May 2009 of parking the car, turning off the motor, key cannot be removed from ignition: 3-4 times the key could not be removed for over 48 hours; 4 - 5 times within 12 hours.. car can be locked if using the second remote-control key, but will unlock all doors with in 5 seconds when lock on the inside door is pushed and door is closed. Have had the alarm go off 3 times when car door is opened after car left unattended for 15+ minutes, unlocked, with key stuck in ignition, but alarm has not sounded at all times for the same scenario. 2) chrome veneer on interior front door handles wrinkling and peeling. Problem was beginning to show it self when car was purchased.

According to motor all data technician report there has been a technical service bulletin posted for my 2006 Ford Fusion regarding the front cv-joints. It states, "2006/2007 Fusion/Milan vehicles built on or before 7/16/2007 may exhibit a momentary front cv-joint clicking, grinding, rubbing, or crackling noise when first accelerating the vehicle after sitting in cold ambient temperatures below 20 F. the noise in most cases will only last for a few rotations of the wheels and then go away. This may be caused by the grease in the outer cv-joint allowing metal to metal contact." Corrective action is "replacing the axle shafts". due to the fact that a technician's bulletin has been made public I assume that many vehicles are, have, and will be experiencing the same issue. Ford should stop this on going issue by announcing a recall. I am sure many others will agree. This is without a doubt the manufacturer's mistake and they should step up, take the blame, and fix the issue. Yes, nothing major happened in my case, but metal on metal contact while a vehicle is in motion can cause serious vehicle and personal damage. Please look into this issue.

There is a creaking noise from the front end of the car, which appears to be a crack subframe in my 2006 Ford Fusion SE V6. There is a technical service bulletin (tsb 06-24-7) for the 2006 Ford Fusion, 2006 zephyrs and 2006 Milan. It states that the repair is eligible under provisions of new vehicle limited warranty coverage. My car is still under this warranty, and Ford (fette Ford, clifton NJ) has refused to aid me in any way. I purchased my vehicle from sawgrass Ford (sunrise, fl). They claim this is not under warranty, and are trying to charge $2100 for the repairs. This is a dangerous situation and hazardous to one's life, because the cracked frame affects the steering control of the car.

At less than 5000 miles my car would hesitate when going to accelerate. I have taken my car to the dealership at least 4 times for this issue. It is now in the shop again because when I would turn left something in the steering column was loose.
