Fusion 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 94,000 miles

Early 2015, the roof window in the Ford Fusion failed to close. There were broken greasy plastic things in window track. The dealer couldn't locate the parts needed. Soon after, the window wouldn't open any longer. it slid off track. With a towel-covered puddy-knife... as to not scratch the paint. The window was set firmly within the weather strip. I bought the car used but not broken. The AC failed due to condenser leak in 2015. New tensioner and idler were installed (I expected that with regular wear. previous autos I owned needed front engine parts as well; tires, shocks, belt oils, new grease and brake linings) and the same driver-side rear light blows its bulb yet electric tests confirm wiring is correct... very strange.

The 4 cylinder is like a rocket but expect to wear the rods soon. My studies indicate the motor isn't a ford design; they teamed with Japanese engine builder. It's a racing motor built with a throw-away crank.

Working on the engine under the hood (work I grew to enjoy in the past) is a nightmare; there is no place for proper height support. when it does need new oil I take it to firestone because they have auto lifts.

But how to address the sun-roof? The book has no useful information, and at the shop the Ford auto mechanics shrug - and currently I am searching for sunroof details on-line with no luck to date (8/2018).
