Transit Connect

  • 16,000 miles
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Transit connect. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start and was towed to an authorized dealer where the starter was replaced. Later, the contact heard an unusual noise from the front end that persisted for several weeks. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the front brakes and calibers were replaced at 21000 miles. The vehicle then began to exhibit an abnormal humming and was taken back to the dealer where both front bearings and hubs were replaced at 27000 miles but the noise persisted. The dealer then replaced both rear bearings and hubs, test drove and replaced the air brake system sensors and released the vehicle to the contact. The contact stated that later while the vehicle was parked, he noticed anti-freeze abnormally leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the coolant hose was replaced. The failure mileage was 16,000 and the current mileage was 31,500.

Transit Connect 4-cyl

  • 4,900 miles
Front brake pads completely worn down to the metal at 5000 miles. Rear brakes dealer mechanic first told me had 15% left, then they "reinspected" and said they had 50% left and were "fine" after I complained. Dealer finally replaced front brakes under warranty, after first telling me were "normal" wear and tear and thus were not covered.
