┐tamara recall┐ recall on passenger air bag in 2016. Never got it fixed because they never had a replacement. Even on 8/29/2018 checked to see if they had a replacement for the 2009 Yukon which no. As of today, January 08, 2019 no replacement for the passenger airbag so far.

No recall on this vehicle based only on the fact of where it was purchased. Car is in Florida approx. 4 months in winter. Even in New York during the rest of the year the sun shining thru the window creates severe heating of dashboard. Vehicle is not garaged. My main concern is whether this car should be driven

Takata recall ┐ I see from airbagrecall.com that there is an active recall on my vehicle since May 27, 2016 and I just received a notice via snail mail from tk holdings. I called chuck nash auto group in san marcos, tx at 512-396-7881 and Mrs. Victoria told me that they have no information from GM on my case. Nothing happened to my vehicle as of now but the airbag icon light on the dashboard is flashing each time I turn the engine on. Can I have a free checkup and eventually a free replacement? thank you.

There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact sustained injuries to the left foot, left knee, a concusion, chest pains, and a black eye. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the failure was diagnosed. The driver of the other vehicle also sustained minor injuries. The dashboard which is made of hard plastic is cracking near and touching the passenger air bag. It will cause shards of thick hard plastic to be projected into the passenger compartment if the airbag deploys. Also large pieces will also be interjected into the passenger compartment in the case of any accident because they are loose.

Dashboard is failing extensively due to an unknown manufacturing defect. Areas of failure include up to and around the portion which says "air bag" which is creating a significant safety concern. Plastic fragments are loose on cracked areas of dash. This presents a possible high-speed projectile hazard if air bag(s) are deployed and catch on loose/cracked areas during deployment. Vehicle has not been involved in any incidents. Dashboard surrounding airbag cracked while the vehicle was stationary and continues to develop additional cracks as time goes on. Finally, dashboard is vibrating while driving at highway speeds causing additional cracks and fragments of plastic to come loose. Discussions with mechanics indicate that entire dash may come loose and fall in to drivers or passenger under normal driving conditions, causing loss of control in addition to possible air-bag projectile hazard. Two local GMC dealers indicated that this is not a covered repair and that the consumer should replace the dash on their own if there is a safety concern by the consumer.
