Accord EXL-V6 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

The rear view camera is installed in the center of the trunk and sticks down far enough for it to look like a button. Anytime someone new tries to open the trunk they grab the camera instead of the actual button to the far right. The repeated tugging on the camera caused the bracket to snap and now the camera flops around. The dealers solution was to replace the whole camera at a cost of over $300. We have decided to let the camera hang on by the wire until the elements eventuality cause it to fail.

Accord EX 2.4L V4

  • CVT transmission
  • 35,800 miles

I noticed my reverse camera video looked a bit misaligned one day. I checked the camera and noticed it was loose and moving around. Brought it into Honda service center and they said the camera clip was broken and that I needed the whole camera unit replaced. The camera unit alone is over $300, not to mention the labor cost. The camera itself is functional, but to replace the clip is going to cost over $300? Honda really is ripping off their customers! Unbelievable that one cannot replace a plastic clip just to hold the camera in place!
