the car pulls when stopping below 40,30&20 miles/hr

The problem I have been observing since I bought the car is that if you are driven at 55-65 miles/hr and release the gas pedal, the car normally starts decreasing speed steadily as expected up to 40 miles/hr. Below 40 miles/hr, the car starts pulling like if you were slightly stepping on the break at between 35-38 miles, then around 30 miles and around 20 miles. At these points, you can feel the pulls and consistently happens at about 80% of the time and sometimes more abruptly than others.

At each pulling, you can observed the RPM going up and then down with a rapid decrease in the speed (like braking); this becomes a problem because if you release the gas pedal to steadily reach a stop when driven in the city, the car abnormally decreases the speed similar to slight braking, but without braking lights (I assume) which represents a risk for cars coming behind you, one, because sometimes I notice the cars getting too close to the back of my car, and second, because you cannot reach the stop and in both situations, you have to step on the gas again which represents an additional gas expense.

I noticed this problem in the first days I was driven the car, hence, I went back to the dealer the second day to report the problem, but I was told by the mechanic shop that it was normal as the new car was barely braking in, that I should continue driving it. The problem continues and while better than at the beginning, it is still present at over 5000 miles. .

A second problem is the low gas performance or low miles/gallon. I usually drive freeway miles from home to work at about 55-65 miles/hr for 25 miles each way. My average miles per gallon is 24-26 (initially I was getting 20), which seems low compared with the official listing miles per gallon of 34 in freeway. To take an accurate measure, independent of the digital car readings, I fill in the tank, and when I refill the tank, I divide trip miles per gallons used in the refill. In the last refill I got an average of 24 miles per gallon.

To me, it seems to be some kind of transmission problem, and I don’t know if the low millage may be related to the same problem
