Severe oil dilution in 1.5L turbo engine. Live/ drive in warm climate (new orleans). Level on dipstick continually climbs upward to greater than 21mm above full mark which translates to 24.7% dilution. We do not drive short trips...engine temperature gauge is up to normal within 3 blocks from our house and about 3 minutes after startup. We drive almost exclusively on interstate highways

This car has suffered from oil dilution with gasoline since it was purchased in August 2018. I have taken it to the dealer who changed the oil at my expense and claimed that increasing oil in the crankcase is normal and should be expected. The oil level increases about 1 quart for every 2000 miles driven and the oil smells like gasoline. This problem happens at all ambient temperatures, and regardless of whether the vehicle is traveling in short trips or extended highway drives.

While driving the vehicle the odor of gasoline is present inside the vehicle from time to time. Upon checking the oil level there is gasoline in the oil. It is dark milky looking that smells of gasoline, and after touching it with your finger clearly your finger smells of gasoline as well.

After having a mandatory update done by Honda January 3 2019 I no longer have heat in my vehicle when its below freezing. My windows cannot stay defrosted or safe to see out of. I have to keep pulling over to scrape windows during storms. Also February 14 I noticed my engine rapping badly. I had it towed to the Honda dealer. My engine oil was 1 inch over the high fill line. Honda corporate told the dealership to tell me that it's 100% normal and fine, and oil dilution is normal and fine. My engine is rapping badly, I have had coworkers who are ase certified look at the vehicle and they said that's engine damage and the engine will fail and probably soon. My oil was last changed 1600 miles ago, and in that time it got 1 inch over filled, gasoline is in my oil now. Honda denies the heat and the oil dilution. You must intervene and help Honda CRV customers! there are thousands of U S experiencing this and Honda refuses to help!! please help! I have a video of my engine rapping, compared it to other Honda CRV's and mine is definitely got something wrong!

Car temperature gauge was not heating up properly. In cold weather when ideling would not move from cold position, therefore produce no heat. When driving it at 35miles an hour gauge would go up some, and when slowing to 25 miles gauge would drop back down to cold, with no heat. Car would also stall after it was started and left in park when I would get in to put it in drive. This would all happen during cold weather. Honda did the recall because they found the gas and oil mixture problem. Did an oil change and did the recall update on control panel and software.got the car back and it is still having the same problem with the temperature gauge dropping down to cold and loss of heat, when driving short trips. Honda said they could not figure out how to fix it.

The engine oil is being diluted with gasoline due to a faulty engine design by Honda. We first noticed a strong gas odor in the cabin in October 2018. We bought the car to the dealer in Nov 2018, they noted the problem and did an oil change. Honda released tsb 18-114 in Dec 2018 to address the problem. I brought my CR-V to the dealer on 01/03/2019 and they applied the fix per tsb 18-114. However 3 weeks later, I noticed gasoline still diluting the engine oil. I bought the car back and they did an oil change on 01/30/2019 (for free) and advised to come back in 1,000 miles to check the oil again. I am afraid Honda has no real fix for this issue and this constant dilution with lead to long term engine damage and possible other side effects like stalling.

This car was purchased new in July 2018. After about 2 months of ownership, it was observed that the oil level was significantly above the "full" mark on the dipstick. Checked on-line and learned that many other owners had made the same observation, noting a strong odor of gasoline in the oil on the dipstick. Dealer acknowledged that 1.5 liter turbo engines are having this problem with increasing frequency. Dealer changed oil and filter at no charge. Problem persisted, with 3 more oil changes at no cost over next 4 months due to gasoline dilution of oil and consequent overfill of crankcase as read on the dipstick. Honda dealership carried out a Honda product update on this vehicle referenced as "1245A2 product update campaign" that involved a software update in which the PCM and tcm were programmed and the A/C control unit was replaced. Oil levels seemed normal for about two months, but once again were well over the full mark and had a strong gasoline odor on February 11, 2019. Took car to dealership to have problem checked and was informed that Honda now states that this condition is "normal" for this vehicle and that oil changes for overfilled oil condition will no longer be done at no charge. I scheduled an oil change and will have this done in one week. Car has 12,000 miles on the odometer. This seems to be a widespread problem with 2017 and 2018 Honda CRV's with the 1.5 liter turbo engine. Honda needs to solve this problem or offer a refund on the vehicle. The potential for early engine wear and failure seems obvious due to gasoline diluted oil. Also, there is sometimes a gasoline odor in or near the vehicle.

Purchased vehicle Nov 9, 2018. From 50-450 miles, had very poor avg mpg (avg 12-16 mpg combined). On Jan 1, with under 450 miles on car, and within the first 1.5 miles of driving (driving on a slight incline), computer mpg indicator became erratic/blinking for about 2-3 minutes (indicated from 2 - 80 mpg and occasionally appeared as -------) then returned to higher than usual number. Jan 2, started car, very strong smell of raw gas inside cabin (had to open windows) for about 3-4 minutes - reported to/made appt with dealer. Jan 3, brought to dealer for appt, told no odor currently detected by service manager in cabin, nothing they could do and did not take car or provide repair order number. At 594, (Feb 5) returned to dealer with strong smell of raw gas in oil (on dipstick and over engine with hood up). Oil on dipstick appeared runny. Dealer confirmed gas in oil, american Honda instructed dealer this is not a problem and not to change oil. Dealer changed oil as a courtesy to me. I am deeply concerned about the safety of this raw gas odor (if involved in minor accident, will vehicle explode) and deeply concerned about the ongoing damage to engine, powertrain etc. Raw gas in cabin (even if sporadic) and oil is not normal. American Honda has not yet returned my calls but has assigned a case number.

Vehicle was recalled for oil dilution issue and engine not warming up properly and gasoline smell inside vehicle. Honda repaired on 1/11/19. Recall repair did not work. Took it back on 1/16/19. Still does not work. I started vehicle in driveway and left it run for 35 minutes with heater on high and fan on high still blowing ice cold air temp gauge did not move at all. Still smell gas in vehicle engine oil is overfilled about 3/8 inch above full on dip stick. Another appointment on 2/12/19 to try and fix for third time. Saturday morning 2/9/19 at 7:10 in morning on way home from work 23 degrees out I had to put the windows down because gas smell inside vehicle was making me sick. Sunday morning at 7:10 on way home from work 17 degrees outside started vehicle up at 6:50 7:05 I got in vehicle still ice cold cleaned frost and ice off vehicle as best I could. Vehicle will not warm up unless it is driven!!! started driving home and windshield is solid ice no sense in stopping because will not heat up unless vehicle is moving. These vehicles are accidents waiting to happen. Honda is aware of all these issues but does nothing. I guess not enough people were killed by their faulty vehicles yet and not enough lawsuits. Everyone of these vehicles should be recalled and banned from the road until repaired. I asked jones Honda of lancaster pa where I bought this vehicle for a loaner car until it is repaired and they said no they do not give out loaner cars but will rent me one. I paid about $32,000 for this vehicle and this is how they treat their customers.

Gas and oil smell in passenger compartment. Gas is leaking into the engine oil causing overfill level. Oil leak on floor of garage. Fear gas in oil will cause premature wear of engine. Just found this was a known problem by Honda in 2017 and 2018 models but still sold me the car. Taking car in. Bought new has 2100 miles now.

Had an oil change at a grease monkey. They noted that the oil stick indicated that it was above full and smelled of gas. When draining the oil, they smelled a strong smell of gas as well. Oil and gas are mixing in the engine which is a known problem by Honda for the 1.5L turbo engine which is in my car. I am concerned that that gas and oil mix will cause issues related to the engine and may cause premature failure.

Purchased January 2018. Noticed occasional gasoline smell, engine slow to warm up and oil level rising way above maximum. Oil testing showed over 7.5% gasoline in crankcase. Reported to dealer, who denied knowledge of problem. Reported to Honda of America and was ignored. I understand a fix is available for people in northern tier of states. I live in flagstaff, AZ at 7,000 feet elevation. Temperatures similar to northern states.

We purchased our 2018 Honda CRV in August of 2018 and soon after found out shortly after that there was a known problem with gas getting into the oil in the 1.5 L models in the years 2017 and 2018. When I checked the oil soon after the purchase I noticed it appeared to be a bit high on the dipstick. I decided to change the oil myself at about 1500 miles and found there was 7.5 quarts when the actual amount should have been 3.7 quarts. Within a few days of changing the oil I noticed the oil was up higher on the dipstick again so I made an appointment at wilde Honda for service. I was told there would soon be a fix for the issue and they changed the oil. I brought the vehicle back a couple weeks later to have the fix done to the vehicle. I took the vehicle home and soon after found the oil higher on the dipstick again. I took it back to Honda service again and they changed the oil but did not check how much oil was actually in the engine. I pulled out of Honda service and it immediately appeared high on the dipstick but I went home with the vehicle. I waited a week or so and changed the oil myself and checked the amount of oil which was 4.7 quarts so 1 quart over. I called Honda service about the issue and they said they can do no more to help and suggested I contact Honda or go through mediation. I have never had a vehicle with an issue like this and I see it is pretty widespread and not just in the usa. I guess I will work through mediation and see what can be done. We'd really like to just trade it in for a new model that does not have this issue. Should have bought the Toyota rav4 instead.

The engine is diluted with gas. When I check the oil level in a cold morning, the oil level is 2 inches above the max oil level on the dipstick.
