We stated driving from LA to San Jose at 7PM. At 8PM we were driving down hill on the highway when a car pulled in front of me moving really slow. I tried to slow down but the van just started to shake and did not slow at all. I had to drive on the side of the road and in and out of lanes cutting off cars and trucks all the way down the hill so that I could not crash in to the back of other drivers. It took about five minutes to get to the bottom and we kept gaining speed all the way down the hill. We were at 70mph when the brakes stopped working. At one point going down the hill I glanced at the speed and we were at 95mph and still gaining. If you know what hill I am talking about it turns too. My wife and kids were in the van with me.

When I saw we had some room in front of us I put the shifted to N and turned the car off for a few seconds to try and reset the ABS. Turned it back on and it still did not work. we got to the bottom of the hill to where it was flat and still could not stop so I drove off the road into the grass using the grass and bumps to stop us.Take the van to Honda and they tell me that on long trips the brakes can over heat and that can make the brakes not work.

We were only driving for an hour and they know that the brakes can over heat and not work and this is not a recall yet?
