Ridgeline RTS 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,500 miles

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline has a capless fuel inlet. There is a plastic tab the is pushed out of the way when you insert the gas nozzle. Mine was either frozen or broken and I could not insert the nozzle. The truck is now in the Honda dealer awaiting new parts. The service manager said that "plastic parts are not covered by Honda under warranty". I have been on a Honda owners forum and it listed many (154) people that have had similar problems except no one mentioned the part not being under warranty. I live in cold weather and don't want keep being stuck without the capability to refill the tank. I also think the statement by the service manager about plastic not being covered by warranty is not right.. Anybody heard of this problem.

Cap less fueling system allows water into gas tank filling spout. In freezing temperatures, the water freezes and you are not able to refill your gas tank. The ice that forms will not allow you to place the gas filling spout into your tank. This can happen in rain or at a car wash.
