Ridgeline RTL

  • Automatic transmission
  • 0 miles

I'm retired and only see well out of one eye, so good headlights are important for me to drive at night. When I test drove the new Ridgeline I fell in love with the quiet, comfortable ride and the estimated miles per gallon.

We went back to the dealership after dark to drive the dealer's demo model, a top of the line Black Edition and it had great headlights. We purchased a RTL model and had to wait till one was available. Little did we know that Honda doesn't put the same headlights in all Ridgeline models and the salesman failed to inform us of this detail. The RTL Ridgeline has the worst headlights (on dim) I've ever driven with and I'm scared to drive this vehicle at night - so it sits. I kepted my 2002 Tacoma and find myself still driving it most of the time.

I REALLY FEEL HONDA BAITED AND SWITCHED THIS RIDGELINE TRUCK ON ME!

Ridgeline LX V6

  • Automatic transmission

My last 4 new vehicles have been Honda Ridgelines. I just traded to a 2017 and the headlights are terrible. I live up in the Berkshire Mts. and there are no street lights. The visibility on low beams is awful. You can barely see in front of you. The high beams are what the low beams were on the 2015 model. I just bought the truck in May. My wife just hates driving it because of this issue. So I brought it to a garage to have a different headlights bulbs installed. It cost me $445. Though the light is brighter you just can't adjust the beam to reach out further into the road. the garage says (and I can see) that the headlamp assembly is just plain designed bad. I am having the old bulbs put back in and so I will be out $455 and stuck driving a vehicle that is not safe to drive at night.

As you can see I have been an extremely loyal Honda Ridgeline customer for years. At this point I will wish I had had never traded in my 2015 and will not even consider buying another one again.
